How Tord Became Red Leader - Eddsworld

So I was going through some stuff online and saw people talking about their own Eddsworld head cannons. So, naturally I decided to write up my own head cannon regarding Tord and how things changed between the end of Moving Targets and The End. I do have other head cannons but this one is so detailed and long I figured I'd upload this alone. So here I go I guess!

So you have to remain in the army for 3 years after joining. So that means there was the rest of the year and another 2 years between Moving Targets and 25 Feet Under The Seat. Soon after the events of Moving Targets (the battle of which was against the Norwegian  army) they fought the same enemy a second time. This time round Tord was captured and tortured until he, sought out for his skills, broke and agreed to join their army in secret. After joining he met Paul and Patryck and as they worked together they quickly became friends, though the relationship quickly became controlling and abusive. Using his knowledge he built a secret lab in his bedroom and worked on creating weapons for the Norwegian army. For fear of being caught, Tord sealed up his lab and left the house to return to Norway once the 3 years had passed and he could leave the British army.

Soon after returning to Norway he was sent under cover to bring down a rebel group who were fighting an underground war against the Norwegian army and government. With the help of his partners Paul and Patryck he took over the rebellion instead, killing off the original leader and all of the members who resisted him, making himself Red Leader. He saw the rebel force as a means to escape the oppression he felt the Norwegian government and army had imposed on him. With the original intent of creating a better world he began to seek world domination, but the power quickly went to his head and his motive changed yet again from helping the world to making people understand the pain he was put through.

From everything he's endured he has a complicated personality disorder very similar to multiple personality disorder and has severe post-traumatic stress disorder. The only reason he was able to attempt to kill his friends is because of his poor mental state. He felt remorse and sorrow for what he did, but his detachment from reality caused these feelings to be short lived and not enough to prevent him from continuing his plans for world domination. His detachment also means that his desires for acceptance, understanding and causing destruction, pain and violence are never met, as for the most part he cannot feel complicated emotions (such as happiness, pleasure, anger or sadness) for any longer than a few moments.

Over the years of going back and forth between intent, he returns to Edd, Tom and Matt and after a nasty fight (where he refuses to harm them despite them attacking him) manages to tell them of how he was tortured and what unfolded to cause him to become Red Leader. Around this time, society is beginning to collapse and the world is spinning into chaos. Tord offers them a place in the Red Army and vows to use his influence to protect those who are in danger from the worlds collapse, if the gang are willing to help keep him on the right path. Tord having broken down infront of them the gang realize how badly he wants to change and agree to join him, this is how Future Tom and Matt received the time machine from Red Leader in the WTFuture. With the world gone to shit, even Tom and Tord find it in themselves to put their differences aside, though the process of truly trusting Tord again takes many years for all of them.

It is another head cannon of mine that Tord (as guns are illegal in the UK) built the guns and weapons the gang used himself from the beginning of Eddsworld, hence his ability to invent things translated into creating the sofa capsules, the robot, the time machine and the serum to transform people into a monster. After leaving, Tom moved into Tord's old room where he discovered the weapons Tord left behind, this is where he got his weapons he used since Tord's departure.

Tord has many other members of the Red Army but Paul and Patryck are his right hand men as paranoia tells Tord that anyone else may try to overthrow him. Despite this, his followers are feircly loyal, which is why they go along with what he tells them to do, regardless of if it is taking over the world to destroy it, murdering innocent people or saving the world
